Sustainable Living in Harmony with Our Environment

At Brahma Ridge Farm and Event Center, we are investing in green and sustainable technologies in an effort to minimize our footprint to preserve the purity of this precious land. Our farm tractor runs on bio-diesel and our Earthberm House and both greenhouses rely on solar energy for heating.

We grow organic fruits and vegetables year-round. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used on the farm. Rather, we take advantage of our neighbors' horse manure and composted materials for fertilizer. We have planted hundreds of trees and landscape plants and will continue to plant more each year.

Building materials are chosen for low toxicity near our gardens. Bio-degradable cleaning products are used exclusively in our houses and laundry facilities. Our bath and shower house is stocked with environmentally friendly soaps and shampoos which we request our guests to use during their stay. We dry all the lodges' bed linens outdoors in the clean mountain air. All bottles, cans, glass, and plastic at the Event Center are collected for recycling and guests are asked to utilize the marked containers provided.

Our future projects include solar hot water and photo-voltaic electricity.
